Ten Year Vamp is the only band from the USA in the game. "The game features indie rock bands from twelve different countries and five continents across the globe, and not one single track was awful to listen to. When I first loaded the game, I thought the menu music was a song by Paramore, when in fact it was a song called Got 2 Me by Ten Year Vamp."

Mediasearch.com.au Review 12/2011
Music, Film, & Fasion in Australia "Having fondly remembered the band's 2009 debut album ‘Don’t Act like You Know Me’, I have been eagerly awaiting the follow up by Ten Year Vamp. Now comes the “Lust” five-track EP, a disc that continues the impressive high-energy music that this band is becoming well known for. Driven by the charismatic lead singer Debbie Gabrione, the songs draw out their issues surrounding love and lust. It is easy to be captivated by Debbie and she sings with great heart and purpose. With a talented band alongside her, their career should continue to boom. It's no surprise that they've already shared the stage with Bon Jovi and Aerosmith. They demonstrate good versatility also, with the knack of a cool ballad and some punk-pop sounds. A highlight track is “Got 2 Me”, a song that ultimately was featured in a new Playstation game “A Band”. The upbeat guitar and drum parts feature well throughout the five tracks and Debbie's charm and star power gives them an all-round quality package. I'm very pleased to see the great progression that Ten Year Vamp continues to make and, at this rate, big things will come soon for them."
"All I can say is why did I not hear this band sooner? They are AWESOME!! Ten Year Vamp is made up of four rockin' dudes, a super hot chick, and lots of energy and style....I recently became aware of this band and got their newest EP, Lust, and I absolutely adore it. I have listened to the record a million times since the first time I heard it. It still has not gotten old, and I don't think it ever will. Normally I would pick a song or two and state why I like each one, but with this record I can not just pick a couple. I truly enjoy every song on Lust! If you are looking for something that is rockin, sultry, sexy, and a plain out good time, Ten Year Vamp is for you. I encourage every single one of my readers to check this band out. They are on Twitter, @TenYearVamp, and have a fan club on facebook! Look them up and dig this fantastic music with me. As I always promise, there will be no disappointment!"
"Ten Year Vamp's front-woman, Debbie Gabrione, stands out as a combination of strong women band leaders coached by the inspirational women to lead past generations. A new album created every year except 2009 since 2005 shows the entire band as one forged by commitment and held together with a pop-rock sound that rivals the would-be fad stars of the present.... Ten Year Vamp captures that essence of youth. It reminds me of what Madonna, Sheryl Crow, Gwen Stefani, and Hannah Montana did for their respective generations - these quick, catchy songs will rally the sense of hope in otherwise tormented teens."
Don't Act Like You Know Me & Lust Reviews at MHR Today! 11/2011
"Pleasures has nice rock rhythm and style, also this song glues like gum into your hair! The guitar details and the chorus lines with the choir are just fabulous!... Of female singers I have heard in this genre, Debbie is absolute the best I ever heard!... Most bands have some ups and downs throughout their albums, but Ten Year Vamp doesn`t have any dull moments at all, but high quality and very entertaining songs all the way throughout!... I have to admit I am totally blown away by the songs from this band, and of bands in this genre, Ten Year Vamp is my absolute number one!!! I can promise fans of female fronted rock, you will get hooked on this band and music immediately, so check them out now!!! 99/100"
"They play the picture-perfect female fronted Melodic Poprockstyle which has been quite popular ever since EVERMORE, PARAMORE, THE DONNAS, KELLY CLARCKSON and such broke through. TEN YEAR VAMP are blessed with a female lead singer (Debbie Gabrione) who does not only look good, but also has a really excellent Rock voice."
Debbie Interview at Ugly Scene Music Magazine 11/7/2011
"For those who have not been fortunate enough to hear about the band they have recently released their new album ‘Lust and have had songs featured on FOX Sports, TLC and MTV’s The Real World. Ten Year Vamp has also opened for acts such as Aerosmith, Lifehouse, Fuel, Bon Jovi, Hoobastank, Drowning Pool, Finger Eleven and many more. The band will also be performing through-out the Northeast USA during 2011 and 2012...."
"What a great opener for JC Show 030. Played track Never Know, super fast and rock n Roll. Love it."
Lust Review at Wildy's World! 11/4/2011
“For an Indie band working outside of the major label framework, Ten Year Vamp has been extremely successful at getting their music placed/licensed, and has even managed to chart in Billboard magazine. The band itself is as tight as a wire, and lead vocalist Debbie Gabrione is the type of front woman who can captivate an audience from the first note…. Lust opens with "Got 2 Me", an amped up love song about the power of love to turn her head. The high energy rocker is full of honest vulnerability meshed with toughness that's appealing in a 1980's Pat Benatar style. "Thinking Of Me" keeps the temp and energy going with a catchy rocker that seems ripe for use in an edgy romantic comedy. Gabrione's vocals are superlative as always, and you simply won't be able to sit or stand still.”
"Ten Year Vamp is a female-fronted, contemporary rock band. Many say they are the next No Doubt. They have sold thousands of CD’s and have been on the Billboard charts since 2004. Get to know this group…now."
"I would love to have a phone Interview with Ten Year Vamp - I will get their music and add to HOOAH!!!! Radio's playlist so our Troops can Rock Out to them :) I know they will be LOVED!"

Musical Smiles, Bette
"With their latest release ‘Lust’, Ten Year Vamp continues to prove that when it comes to a radio friendly pop rock style of music they perform it at near perfection levels."

TEN YEAR VAMP ‘DON’T ACT LIKE YOU KNOW ME’ (INDEPENDENT/USA IMPORT)
TEN YEAR VAMP is a female fronted rockband from New York, formed back in 2003 by lead singer/guitarist Debbie Gabrione and guitarist Mark Rose. Although they did release a couple of CDs in the past, ‘Don’t act like you know me’ is their official first full-length debut CD. Musically we are in the typical catchy modern American (female fronted) radiorockstyle, although TEN YEAR VAMP also recalls a bit of the early 80s Classic Rocksound of PAT BENATAR (“Pleasures” sounds like the follow-up to Pat’s “You better run”), but on the other hand comparisons to DAMONE and PARAMORE are also quite clear. Debbie has got an excellent strong rockvoice and the material on this album truly rocks from start to finish, so no sloppy ballads like a KELLY CLARCKSON or AVRIL LAVIGNE is doing. TEN YEAR VAMP is a real Rockband and this album contains some great material, easily beating the material of the 2 mentioned so-called rockvamps! Highlights are the uptempo rockers “Never know”, “One night ticket” and “Another try” as well as the midtempo “Say that you made love to me”. For an independent release, the sound is huge (mastered at the famous MASTERDISK in New York) and musically speaking TEN YEAR VAMP has got all the ingredients to become bigger in the music world. The record has been out for a while and it is ready to pick up for anyone who likes good rock with strong vocals and catchy melodies. More info at: http://www.tenyearvamp.com
"The band knows how to rock boldly and feverishly and have scored fine support
gigs in recent times.
I reckon Ten Year Vamp have great times ahead as they
have passion and talent to burn. I just
hope they get the right breaks."

Ten Year Vamp Opens For Aerosmith... 8/27/2010
"Ten Year Vamp, a six-piece band that boasts of all New York state musicians, rocked the crowd with vigor and style. Led by charismatic lead singer Debbie Gabrione, Ten Year Vamp delivered a solid, soaring string of songs from the album “Don’t Act Like You Don’t Know Me.” Gabrione stalked the stage, at times hopping up and down and at other times pacing left and then right. All the while, she let the crowd know exactly how she felt with the smooth and rich vocals to “Pleasures (That I Call Mine),” “Rockstar,” “Faked It” and “One Night Ticket.” She’s got star power aplenty."

Ten Year Vamp Review In Upstate Live 3/2010
"Debbie's great vocals and intense energy on stage is something to behold with her hair flying yet somehow returning to it's original place adds a 'hot' factor that isn't seen much with live acts... this band was very energetic and action heavy compared to most bands that just stand there and do not engage the crowd.... Hearing their next original 'Rockstar' bothered me, only because this band was somehow unsigned, yet pulled crowds into frenzy and generated rocking tunes throughout spot-on covers of traditional and newer rockers.... The crowd was jumping, screaming, loving the band to the extent that it was difficult to navigate their way off stage for another setbreak.... The band's camaraderie I observed during setbreak was uncanny; they could easily be mistaken for brothers and sisters joking around and having a good laugh, keeping a positive, but not naive outlook on things.... The band played strong till 3:30am, long after it was time for me to call it a night. Ten Year Vamp puts on one helluva show for any music fan." (Click to download the entire article)
- Phanary Pete Mason Upstate Live, March 2010
Luka Cafe Album Review 3/30/2010 "Ten Year Vamp are fronted by the expressive Debbie Gabrione and play a catchy brand of rock on this album. "Never Know" charges along at top speed and has a dynamite lead vocal part. "Pleasures (That I Call Mine)" sees Gabrione sing of owning and accepting one's sexuality. It's catchy and has an impressive guitar part by Andrew Foster. It's a hot song in many sense of the word. If Foo Fighters had a female singer this would be the sound they'd make. "I Don't Need" sees the narrator assert her independence in the face of a troubled relationship and it sounds convincing. It's as ever catchy and charging. "Call It" sees the band play another winner, and Gabrione's vocal is especially strong here. It's a cool record by any standards."

"Don't Act Like You Know Me, shapes up to be one of the most dynamic rock albums of the year... Debbie Gabrione is the sort of front woman they make movies about, and the rest of the band is incredibly tight. With a sound already refined and highly marketable, Ten Year Vamp just needs that one big break to fall in place. It will happen sooner or later; music this good just doesn't stay hidden. Don't Act Like You Know Me is brilliant; a Wildy's World Certified Desert Island Disc. Don't miss it." Rating: 5 Stars (Out of 5) Click HERE to read the whole thing.

"A disc that brilliantly captures the urgency of their sound and the relentless passion of their live performance. From the opening track "Never Know" to the cd's conclusion, "Goodbye," this record boasts a unique sounds laced with hints of Green Day's musical complexity and enhanced by Gabrione's intense and incisive lyrics... There is nothing generic or gimmicky about the music of Ten Year Vamp. When Debbie Gabrione sings of "... a secret you will never know" - one thing is certain - no one needs to know the secret to enjoy the musical rush on the new Ten Year Vamp cd. The music is in your face. The songs will move your soul. This is a cd that flat out rocks."

Ten years is starting to seem like a modest amount of vamping time, judging by the number of times these guys have taken top honors. The Velmas were a close second this year, though. And it must be something about that power trio thing that earned Super 400 the bronze. Oh yeah: They rock.

Daily Gazette Article (8/5/2008)
"Albany-based Ten Year Vamp opened the show with a powerhouse set centered on their originals. They are good — as individuals and together — and it was hard to watch them work so hard and only be the warm-up act. Singer Debbie Gabrione is more energy and presence than vocals, though you can’t separate the elements on stage. [Greg Nash] has the skills and concepts of a jazz-fusion drummer, his limbs carving every angle of the tune.
From the first beat of the opener they exploded. They stated with their work ethic that they’re serious. Some of the songs started with the members leaping in place together. Bassist [Tim Keenan] and guitarist Mark Rose don’t appear to be the jumping-spinning boy-band type, but they’re not above it either, and they don’t have to be. Their music stands strong, even when they covered Madonna’s “Like a Prayer” in their power-rock style. Gabrione mentioned that they play regularly in seven states. How good will they have to be to reach all 50?"

"Tight, white-hot and endlessly attacking the downbeat from the gun... Drinks were spilled. Souls were lost.... the band caught more air than Blink 182 backing David Lee Roth on a McDonaldland trampoline.... And, of course, you have leading lady Debbie Gabrione. Sure, Gabrione is a looker, a prime selling point for the band, she plats the manes of her horses in the night with toasts and promises and a sort of reassuring elemental satisfaction... their radiance is infectious."

Blog Review
"I've been digging on live music since I was in college, and I have rarely seen a local band just own a crowd the way Ten Year Vamp owned the crowd at Bayou Cafe on Saturday night. They had a couple hundred people just eating out of their hands all night long. Seriously - I dug the music, but it was their showmanship and how much the crowd obviously was having a great time that really made the experience for me.... I find myself really awestruck whenever I see a performer who has mastered the art of working a crowd -- and Debbie can transfer her own energy to 200 people and then amp them all up to 11. So much of rock is about more than the music -- it's all in the presentation... and I'm telling you, these guys have "it". This was as impressive an "undiscovered"/local band as I've seen in a very long time."

Is This the Future of the Music Business?
RENSSELAER, N.Y., Aug. 18 2009
Boston Business Journal
Over the past year and a half, fans of Upstate New York indie rockers Ten Year Vamp became actual owners of the record label that will release the female-fronted band's first full-length album on August 21, 2009. In a groundbreaking effort to break away from music industry dependence, Ten Year Vamp created the Album Project, which offers shares of the forthcoming CD to its fanbase and other investors. Shares started at $25, and to date the band has raised more than $30,000, leaving little doubt that people recognize the outfit's potential for success.
"Each owner will receive their fair percentage of album sales based on how much they invested," says band co-founder and guitarist Mark Rose. Over the past few months, owners also voted on which songs should make the album and which photo should be used for the album cover. This plan also benefits the band in that they immediately receive their share of the sales -- not only for the money they invested along with their fans, but also for their time and hard work. The group has been credited by Forbes, CNBC, Yahoo!, AOL Money and Finance, Columbia's School of Journalism and countless other news sites as completely reinventing the way records are recorded, marketed and sold.
The new album, entitled "Don't Act Like You Know Me," was produced by Mike Watts and recorded at VuDu Studios on Long Island. Mike Watts has produced records for Virgin Records, Warner Bros. Records, Victory Records, Roadrunner Records and more. The album will be released on August 21st with a special CD Release show at Vapor in Saratoga, NY. The band will also be performing at the Jersey City LGTB Festival on August 29, the Cars For Cancer Challenge at the Lebanon Valley Speedway on August 30, Larkfest in Albany, NY on September 19, and Crash Mansion in NYC on September 26 as a special Headline Guest for the annual M.E.A.N.Y. Fest.
Ten Year Vamp has toured the Northeastern U.S. extensively for the past five years, playing more than 450 shows -- many with national acts, including Simple Plan, Sum 41, Fuel, Lifehouse, Natasha Beddingfield, Gavin Degraw, David Archuletta, Thriving Ivory, Jesse McCartney, and more.
Rock Band Takes The Music Industry Into Their Own Hands
Is This The Future For The Music Industry?
Forbes.com - November 18, 2009
For the past year, indie rock band, Ten Year Vamp has been asking their fans to become actual owners of the record label that will release their first full length album early next year. In a ground-breaking move to bypass the music industry, the band will be distributing their profits to their “shareholders” who have funded the album. Already, Ten Year Vamp fans have invested over $25,000. “Each owner will receive their fair percentage of the CD sales based on how much they invested,” says Mark Rose, co-founder and rhythm guitar player. “But that’s not all they get,” says Debbie Gabrione, co-founder and lead singer. “Ten Year Vamp shareholders also get to listen to all the demo songs, vote on the songs that go on the album, free t-shirts, free passes… and lots of other cool perks.” The Ten Year Vamp Album Project invites anyone to become an owner for as little as $25 - the more someone contributes, the more “benefits” they receive as an owner.
“Record labels are signing more performance packages than creative acts, but we’re not letting that stop us. All we need are the funds to get started,” says Gabrione. “Thanks to the Internet, the music scene has evolved from large commercial conglomerations that did everything a band needed, to small specialized and independent companies that each help with specific aspects of a band’s career. Each of these companies, from radio promoters to distributors, tour managers to public relations firms, can be easily found on the web and each are hungry for bands that can afford their services. By securing the necessary investments, we can do everything ourselves that a record label would have normally done for us.”
Under Ten Year Vamp’s plan, shareholders will receive shares of the CD sales, as well as the chance to vote on many band decisions as the album is being created. This plan also benefits the band in that they also receive their share of the sales… not only for the money they have also invested, but also for their time and hard work. This plan is very fair towards the band, unlike many of the contracts record labels are notorious for, where the bands are always the last ones to ever see payment for their work.
Ten Year Vamp has been performing for over 5 years throughout the Northeastern U.S. They have opened for such National Acts as Lifehouse, Gin Blossoms. Fuel, Finger Eleven, Natasha Beddingfield, and many more.
Ten Year Vamp is currently looking for a producer and sponsors for their album project and are performing regularly in New York and New England.
Please see www.tenyearvamp.com for show dates and more information about the Album Project.
Ten Year Vamp, A Band and A Business
by Paul Cashmere
Undercover.com.au
November 19 2008
Introducing Ten Year Vamp, a band that operates as a business and a corporation.
Ten Year Vamp are one of the smart bands. They recognise that the old business model in the music biz is obsolete and they are creating their own new one.
Ten Year Vamp allowed fans to become shareholders in their indie label. In doing so, they have raised enough money to record an album and the fans get an inside view of the activity of the band.
"Record labels are signing more performance packages than creative acts, but we're not letting that stop us. All we need are the funds to get started," says Debbie Gabrione, lead singer. "Thanks to the Internet, the music scene has evolved from large commercial conglomerations that did everything a band needed, to small specialized and independent companies that each help with specific aspects of a band's career. Each of these companies, from radio promoters to distributors, tour managers to public relations firms, can be easily found on the web and each are hungry for bands that can afford their services. By securing the necessary investments, we can do everything ourselves that a record label would have normally done for us."
Fans have become investors in The Ten Year Vamp Album Project for as little as $25. The more you contribute, the more benefits you get.
Those benefits include profits in the CD sales and a chance to contribute to band decisions.
"Each owner will receive their fair percentage of the CD sales based on how much they invested," says Mark Rose, co-founder and rhythm guitar player. "But that's not all they get," says Debbie Gabrione, co-founder and lead singer. "Ten Year Vamp shareholders also get to listen to all the demo songs, vote on the songs that go on the album, free t-shirts, free passes ... and lots of other cool perks."

Ten Year Vamp rocks ‘like the big boys’
By CASSAUNDRA BABER
Observer-Dispatch
Posted Sep 11, 2008 @ 08:20 AM
Debbie Gabrione always wears sneakers on stage, but that’s not what sets this woman apart from the rest of the rock world.
As the front woman for Ten Year Vamp, one of Albany’s hottest bands, it’s her ability to command a crowd that has critics talking – in a good way.
That doesn’t come easily, she said. There’s effort behind balancing the sexuality she knows garners attention and proving her band has the skills to back it up.
In some cases, Gabrione’s sex appeal is what has opened the door for the band’s musicianship. “I’d be lying to say it didn’t give us an edge in certain situations.”
That sex appeal, coupled with the band’s savvy marketing, might be why critics are calling Ten Year Vamp the next No Doubt. They’ve performed in hot spots across the region, including New York City’s The Knitting Factory and the now-closed CBGB.
The band earned a songwriting award from Billboard magazine and has been praised for its in-your-face performances.
“The bottom line for us is we deliver,” Gabrione said. “I’m not standing there in a short skirt bouncing. We rock it out like the big boys.”
Getting to that level hasn’t happened overnight, Gabrione admits. The band has been a unit for five years, and just in that time there’s been tremendous growth.
“To really get into the music and the energy, you have to trust your musicians,” she said. “I think as the trust has grown among us we’ve been able to take risks in our performance that has taken us to the next level.”
The band makes a concentrated effort to appeal to labels, and be aware of where it is weak, she said.
At the same time, Ten Year Vamp recognizes a certain decline in the music industry.
“The record industry is going down with digital music. You don’t need to get signed anymore to be successful,” she said, though making money without a label remains the challenge.
But the band has a creative solution to that problem; much like the stock exchange, the band sells “shares” of itself. Shareholders are entitled to a percentage of album sales and have a say in various aspects of the process.
“When you have 200 people who are an owner in your project, they’re going to be our arms and legs pushing the sales,” she said.
Ten Year Vamp will perform as part of the Utica Music Festival from 10:30-11:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, at The Electric Company.
Lez Zeppelin Guitarist Best Of The Band Mediocre group keeps crowd in Albany park entertained
Daily Gazette - Tuesday, August 5, 2008
David Singer
ALBANY — Lez Zeppelin’s Steph Paynes is the best woman guitarist I’ve ever heard play.
That might not be saying much, since you rarely — actually, never — get to see women in the role of guitar-hero. Monday night at Washington Park she played the part of Jimmy Page, nailing the solos in “Custard Pie” and the slide work in “In My Time of Dying.” She lit up the sky during “Since I’ve Been Loving You.”
I’ve seen better Jimmy Page copiers. But she was darn good — even mimicking his bent-over knee-level posture — and you couldn’t help give her points just for daring to play Page.
The rest of the band didn’t come close.
But the packed venue didn’t ask for much: just keep banging out those Zeppelin tunes. Which they did with “The Ocean,” “Immigrant Song,” and “Black Dog.”
Vocalist Sarah McLellan was a mediocre blues singer and didn’t have the range to follow Robert Plant’s notes. Nor could she tease out the more sensual spots like Plant did, as in “What Is and What Should Never Be.”
But her own limited style was likeable. Drummer Helen Destroy sought to hit — destroy — the skins as hard as John Bonham did. But Bonham was much more musical than that. Destroy was consistent, and never let down the tune, but she also rarely contributed beyond the heavy, expected thumping.
Only Paynes dressed in Zep regalia, the others in plain suburban jeans and white sneakers, which took away from the Zeppelin atmosphere they sought to create.
The New York City-based band seemed aware of their weaknesses in the rough stuff, like the mid-section to “Heartbreaker.” But that didn’t stop them from plowing through it.
But the large crowd came to hear women play Zeppelin, and that’s what they got in spades, including a frolicking “Black Dog” and “No Quarter,” which captured the eerie, black-magic of Page. They closed with “Kashmir,” “Black Dog,” and “Whole Lotta Love.”
Albany-based Ten Year Vamp opened the show with a powerhouse set centered on their originals. They are good — as individuals and together — and it was hard to watch them work so hard and only be the warm-up act. Singer Debbie Gabrione is more energy and presence than vocals, though you can’t separate the elements on stage. Scott Card has the skills and concepts of a jazz-fusion drummer, his limbs carving every angle of the tune.
From the first beat of the opener they exploded. They stated with their work ethic that they’re serious. Some of the songs started with the members leaping in place together. Bassist Chad Balzer and guitarist Mark Rose don’t appear to be the jumping-spinning boy-band type, but they’re not above it either, and they don’t have to be. Their music stands strong, even when they covered Madonna’s “Like a Prayer” in their power-rock style.
Gabrione mentioned that they play regularly in seven states. How good will they have to be to reach all 50?
Amp Up with Ten Year Vamp - CD On Tap (1/29/2008)
What’s grown local, never sleeps, amps up the metro music scene and rocks out with a woman at the helm? If you haven’t seen it, if you haven’t heard it and if you haven’t experienced it – drop everything. You, my friend, need a substantial dose of the sinfully sweet sounds of Ten Year Vamp.
This high-energy kick-ass rock band is five years young but consistently outperforms bands with decades under their belt. Their sounds rock the rooms in over 50 venues and across seven states. The list of bands they’ve shared the bill with read like a Billboard Chart - Fuel, Lifehouse, The Gin Blossoms, Finger Eleven, Bo Bice, Nickelback, Three Doors Down, The Spin Doctors, Simple Plan, Hoobastank, Ludacris, Cinder Road, Nonpoint and Drowning Pool.
“We started performing in 2003 as an acoustic duo,” says Mark Rose. “The plan from the beginning was to find a band, and play just a few acoustic duo shows while we searched for band members. We thought we might play a month or two of acoustic shows, but it ended up taking eight months to find the right.”
The Capital District venues have really supported the band from the very beginning. Although competition is fierce, things seemed to happen fast for 10YV in the right places. “We have to give a special thanks to Ralph from the Bayou,” smiles Mark. “He gave us a ton of Happy Hour gigs as the acoustic duo, and he gave us our first gig as a full band on the main stage... it's been our home ever since.”
2008 is shaping up to be a year jam-packed with shows and appearances for Ten Year Vamp. The band will often go from one venue to the next, from city to city, playing for their loyal followers of the “vamp culture.”
“We're always busy, but lately we've got more shows than ever,” boasts Mark. “Feb 1st we're at the Bayou in Albany. We'll get home from the show that night somewhere around 5am, sleep for about three hours, then meet up with a bus from Premiere Limo to take us down to the city. We've got a big show at the Blender Theatre in Gramercy. It's the BoDog Battle of the Bands and we've made it to the third round of competition with a million dollar recording contract on the line.”
The BoDog Battle of the Bands is presented by BoDog Music and does culminate with the winning band receiving a million dollar recording contract with BoDog Music. Over 7000 bands entered in this high-profile, high-energy, aggressive music jam contest across the country. Through many levels of qualifying rounds, each major city selects bands to continue on the next following rounds. Ten Year Vamp has titillated and tempted the eager crowds at each round they’ve advanced to. They are now another step closer to that recording contract.
When asked what sets them apart from the rest of band world, 10YV front woman Debbie Garbrione makes these points. “Firstly, there aren't many (any?) female fronted bands, who HONESTLY rock, and can amp up a crowd. Female fronted rock bands are rare, and female fronted high energy rock bands are even more rare,” boasts Debbie. “We're able to deliver high energy AND talent. Many bands have to compromise on one...either they have the energy, but can't seem to deliver the stability of the music at the same time...or....they are incredible musicians, but they just stand there. We have it all.”
Ten Year Vamp also prides themselves on their uncanny ability to connect with the audience. “We don't function separate and removed from the audience,” says Debbie. “We function WITH them, and talk to them, and laugh with them and we monitor them to confirm they're having a good time, and that we're doing our job... which is to entertain them and make killer music. They fuel us, just as much as we fuel them.” Having seen several recent shows, this is a characteristic absent from so many bands. Ten Year Vamp really does thrive on the crowd’s energy and involvement. The more pumped you get, the more you see it on stage. It’s completely intoxicating and addictive, to put it mildly.
It’s no wonder why the band is taking this connection even further through their innovative and ground-breaking concept of “consumer/band partnership.” In an effort to Amp Up the Vamp, the band is offering the option to become an owner and collaborator of a record label. Through several levels of participation, 10YV fans are able to truly become part of this music and marketing revolution. The band is slated to record their first major album this fall and is offering YOU, the loyal fan, an opportunity to buy into the band’s record label and become part of the process. Ownership opportunities start at just $25 for a Basic Sponsorship up to $2000 for a Corporate Sponsorship. Each additional level offers additional benefits based upon financial participation including a percentage of the album profits, listing on the album credits, invites to band tour dates, and even the executive ability to chose songs for the final album cut.
“The potential is endless here,” says Mark. “No one is doing anything quite like this and we want our fans to be the first to do so in the industry. We want them to be part of the process that only a select few usually get to be a part of.”
Of course, being part of such a crazy gig can bring with it some pretty crazy times. Debbie says, “I don't know that I have a favorite 10YV story necessarily, simply because something funny or crazy happens almost every show....alcohol, boys, girls, hotels, adrenalin, rock music, hormones....it's quite a combination.”
“My fav 10YV memories are attached to our bus trips,” laughs Debbie. “We often play in NYC (which is 3 hours from Albany), and we'll get a bus and fill it with 50 friends and head down to NY city. We get food and drinks and good music, and we all just get to hang out and laugh and be silly. Then we arrive at the club and put on a KICK ass show, and more often then not, we BLOW away all the NYC based bands. It's a good feeling to drive 3 hours to play in world reknowned bars (like CBGB's or the Knitting Factory or Blender Theatre), and go head-to-head against bands from one of the trendiest, music centered cities in the world... and bring more people then any other band and just blow the other bands out of the water.”
Ten Year Vamp is often catching the eye of numerous industry notables, one of which most of you have seen on VH1 or read his column in the Village Voice. Michael Musto recently judged a competition 10YV played in and had these fine words to say as a result: “I voted for the tighter-than-my-pussy Ten Year Vamp".
The band is slated for a full rockin schedule through the months to come. To check out where they will be rockin out, visit www.tenyearvamp.com.
